COUTURE India 2016 fuels positivity in the lull season

A venture by Indian Jeweller(IJ) magazine, the first edition of COUTURE India garnered an awe-inspiring response from gems and jewellery fraternity across India. The one-of-its kind business boutique show was held from 24th to 26th September 2016, at TAJ Palace in New Delhi. Within the span of just 3 days, the show received 2000 trade visitors.

COUTURE India hosted 33 crème-de-la-crème jewellery manufacturers and designers from across India. Some of the names included P.C. Totuka & Sons, B. R. Designs, BRS Jewels, Kaveesh Gems, Jaipur Johri, YS18, Sparsh Jewellers, Tara Fine Jewels, Wondercuts, etc. All prominent retailers of Delhi like Ramesh Narang from Hazoorilal Legacy, Sandeep Narang from Hazoorilal by Sandeep Narang, Vijay Khanna from Khanna Jewellers, Subhash Bhola from Bholasons Jewellers, Varun Rakyan from Rakyans Fine Jewellery were on show floor purchasing for the upcoming season.

Besides, the show had the presence of the leading retailers visiting the show and taking advantage of the ‘Hosted Buyer Program’. Some the retailers who visited the show included TejpalRanka from Ranka Jewellers, Paul Alukkas from Jos Alukkas, Aditya Pethe from WHP Jewellers, Darpan Anand from Punjab Jewellers, Anand Prakash from Abhushan Diamonds, Rajesh Rathod from Rathod Jewellers, Surendra Pal from Nikkamal Jewellers, Baljit Singh from Nagi Diamonds and many more.

The show’s set up was equivalent to the international standards as the idea was to provide for the international experience of a business boutique show on our home ground. Having identical booths for all the exhibitors spread a sense of equality amongst them. After all, each of them had their unique design skills on display.

Arpit Kala, Organizer of COUTURE India says, “As far as jewellery was concerned, it was not only luxurious but also one of its kind designs. Each of the design displayed was a creative masterpiece and set the bar high for COUTURE India. It was an one exclusive treasure chest of one of the most exquisite display of marvelous jewellery under one roof.”

During the show, the first edition of Knowledge Forum was also conducted which threw light on a various topics relating to the gems and jewellery industry. First Knowledge Forum was on Inheritance of Legacy which had Abhishek Zaveri, Vaibhav Saraf from Aisshpra, Rohan Narang from Hazoorilal Legacy, Dipankar Jain from Nikkamal Jewellers and Prashant Surana from BRS Jewels LLP. On the second day, a seminar on Retail Strategy: Balancing Expansion and Consolidation was held. The panelists included Tejpal Ranka from Ranka Jewellers, Anil Kataria from D P Jewellers and Himanshu Shekhar from ManoharLal Jewellers. Another seminar was on Marketing Jewellery as Luxury Brand, which had Sachin Jain from Forevermark, Rishabh Tongya from Diacolor and Nirupa Bhatt from GIA India as panelists. The seminars were organized under the umbrella of INDIAN JEWELLER Magazine.

Every year in India, a host of jewellery shows are held across India. However, there was certainly a need for an exclusive platform for fine jewellery makers and that is how COUTURE India came into being.The show proved to be the most exclusive and intimate destination for the luxury jewellery.The concept of the show as the name suggested had spotlight only on Designer Jewellery and Fine Jewellery.
